In 2015, the team will be concentrating on making sure the equipment and people work successfully in a variety of conditions of both wind and ice. The objective will be to prove the concept of polar travel with minimum use of hydrocarbons using the free and abundant resource of the WIND!
The expedition will travel up the west side of the icecap, ideally as far north as Upernavik where they will be picked up again by Killary Flyer which will have sailed north up the dramatic west coast of Greenland.
In 2016 the objective is to circumnavigate the Greenland Icecap, ideally on the route recently completed by both:
wings over Greenland and
Greenland Ice Both these expeditions used the tried and tested method of kite skiing. We remain convinced that when we get the design right, a kite buggy will be a more efficient, less tiring faster and more fun way to travel on the icecap.
